The Biomedical Scholars App is targeted at undergraduates and graduate students, and other individuals who are on a path towards becoming research professionals in a biomedical-related field. This App was originally developed to foster communication and collaboration among students, faculty and other researchers interested in biomedical research as part of a larger effort to increase the diversity of the biomedical research workforce.
The National Institutes of Health has supported a number of programs across the United States of America under the Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity (BUILD) Initiative. (https://www.nigms.nih.gov/training/dpc/pages/build.aspx).
The Biomedical Scholar App is developed by the Computing Technologies Research Lab at UCLA under the direction of Drs Keith Norris and Teresa Seeman who are Co-Principal Investigators for the Coordination and Evaluation Center for the NIH, BUILD and NRMN consortium.
